As a healthcare for all, public payer, quality coverage advocate, I know that private insurance companies are not accountable to their members pocketbooks. Rather put their financial interest, not their patient members, first. These skewed priorities have led to a lot (up to half) of all people w/ private insurance skipping needed healthcare sevices due to their ever-increasing co-pays, deductibles and co-insurance costs.
The good news is that, per the Governors order, all insurance companies must cover COVID testing in Maine.
Having served for twelve years as a patient advocate, I offer my support to anyone concerned about healthcare costs, insurance coverage, or access to quality care during this challenging time of job loss and uncertainty. Please call me at 207-725-8486 or email poppy4staterep@gmail.com
Look up your insurance company to find out what COVID related care they will cover.
