To the people of Maine House of Representatives District 49 I am asking that you vote, in the State Primary Election on July 14th, to place me on the November 3rd General Election ballot as your Democratic candidate for State Representative.
In return, you can count on me to use my leadership experience, collaboration, and teamwork skills, to represent you, to hear you out, and respect your ideas, so that together, as a community of diverse people, we thrive.
As it has turned out the July 14th Primary election will take place on the heels of our July 4th holiday. Like the holiday, the upcoming election is being experienced very differently due to COVID-19. As of this writing over 5,000 absentee ballots have been requested and sent out to Brunswick voters. In the 2018 Primary the absentee ballots that were cast paled in comparison. As individuals, families, and a community facing the COVID virus, our collective need is to stay healthy and keep each other safe.
To do so we will all be asked to social distance 6-feet and wear a face covering at the polls on July 14th. As a candidate I plan to greet people and do both. I will do this as I am confident that this will serve to significantly limit COVID spread while sustaining economic growth and recovery locally.
Please exercise your right to vote in the July 14th Primary. You may be one of the many who have already voted absentee. Congratulations! If not, you may cast your absentee ballot at the Town Office up until 8 pm on election day. If you are seeking information to decide which candidate you will support. I am providing the "Vote for Poppy" section above and "Meet Poppy Info" below. Please call me at (207) 725-8486 if you have questions and to let me know what's important to you.
I would be honored to have your vote.
To keep our community safe I am not doing door-to-door visiting, and am calling to talk with people District 49 residents. I am also hosting Campaign Conversations on Zoom. The conversations run for half an hour and are open to any resident who would like to talk with me about what's important to you and how I can work for you in Augusta. Please join me for a Community Conversation using the Zoom lnk below.

I support Absentee voting snd offer the follow steps to assist others in casting an absentee ballot:
STEP 1. Register to vote. You must register to vote before casting your ballot. You may register to vote at the Town office and on election day at the polls. For information on voter registration click on https://www.brunswickme.org/301/Voter-Registration
STEP 2. Request an absentee ballot. Brunswick residents may call to request a ballot (207) 725-6658 from the Town Clerk thru July 9th. An absentee ballot may be requested, in person, from the Town Office thru July 14th election day.
STEP 3. Obtain your absentee ballot. The Brunswick Town Clerk is mailing absentee ballots to those who request them thru Thursday July 9th. Ballots may also be picked up at the Town Office thru elections day.
STEP 4: Cast your absentee ballot. You may return your ballot by mail. Mail early as the ballot must be recieved by the Town Clerk by 8 pm on Election Day. Brunswick is providing return postage for mailing and is open for absentee voting. Click on "Learn More" below for absentee ballot pick up and hand in Town Office hours.
I believe in the Maine Democratic Party Platform which supports clean, publically funded, small donation campaigns. I have qualified to be a Maine Clean Elections candidate and want to thank all the voters in State House District 49 who gave $5 contributions to make this possible. Thank you!
